Hi all! In December of last year, 2017, my last month of nursing school, I wrote this research article, “Natural Ways to Boost Your Immune System,” in the nursing school newspaper. We are definitely in the heart of cold and flu season now! I hear from my nurse friends that the ER has been exceptionally busy lately, full of patients who are suffering from the horrible symptoms of a cold or particularly nasty flu.
Sometimes it’s inevitable that we succumb to whatever virus we’re exposed to – think young kids bringing germs home from preschool, or a significant other who lays on a kiss before they know they’re coming down with something – but there are certainly ways to make sure your immune system is functioning optiamally to give yourself the best chance possible of shaking it off, or kicking it to the curb faster. I hope you enjoy the read, and that you stay healthy this winter!
**As always, please do your own research and consult your healthcare provider before adopting any of these remedies and lifestyle tweaks! Everyone has different needs, health conditions, and circumstances, and what might work for one person, might not be beneficial for another!**
If you’re interested in checking out another article I wrote for the nursing school newspaper back in November 2017, all about my experience working with ER nurses, you can find it Here!
Be Well,
Stacy
